The Digital Circulation in Peripheral Vascular Diseases.
نویسنده
چکیده
The results are presented in Table I. In three cases of typical Raynaud's disease, one of less than one year's duration, and the others of less than extreme decrease in digital blood flow to approximately four per cent of the normal, with a correspondingly extreme increase in digital vascular resistance to the height of 1740 units (normal 63 to 96 units). The digital arterial blood presure was somewhat low and the brachial-digital arterial pressure gradient moderately increased. Seven cases of scleroderma were studied. In one case (C. R.) only the neck, chest, face, and legs were involved, there being no perceptible sclerodactyly. In this case, the digital blood flow was at the lower limit and the digital vascular resistance at the upper limit of normal. In the

Experimental and clinical evaluation in man of hexamethonium (C6), a new ganglionic blocking agent.
In man, C6, a new ganglionic blocking agent (50 mg. intravenously) produced inhibition of the Valsalva, tiltback and cold pressor vasopressor responses. Marked increases in digital blood flow and skin temperature with inhibition of digital reflexes to "noxious" stimuli were consistently observed (room temperature 70 F.). The increase in skin temperature was greater and more lasting than followi...
متن کاملArteriographic Evaluation of Laminitis Digits in the Hind Limbs of Dairy Cattle
Objective: Laminitis is one of the main causes of lameness in dairy cattle. In this situation the corium blood circulation is disrupted and the production of healthy horny hoof wall is reduced. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the arteriographic pattern of the digital arterial branches in the laminitic digits and to compare them with the normal digits. Design: Original study. Animals...
متن کاملDigital Hemodynamics in the Normotensive and Hypertensive States. Ii. Venomotor Tone.
T HE single factor implicit in the sustained hypertensive state, regardless of etiology, is an increase in peripheral vascular resistance. It is generally agreed that this results from a narrowing of the small arteries and arterioles. Although the small veins and venules possess anatomically and physiologically similar smooth-muscle elements, they have not been implicated in this increase in va...
متن کاملThe basis of Fluorescing Angiography and Its Diagnostic Significance in Vascular Diseases
Fluoresing photography has become a prominent branch in opthalmology. During the last few years, it gives us dynamic infor-of circulation of the EYE and its pathologieal disorders.By passing the fluoresein through the retinal and choroidal vessels we are able to record the different typesand stages of disease which these are not exactly diagno-sed by ophthalmoscopy and founds photography.By flu...
